A WARM GLOW

While those of us who live in WA would probably have seen sunsets like this sort often, visitors from Asia in particular view it as a rare treat.  The Turquoise Coast draws more and more international visitors who are keen to experience something completely different to what they enjoy in their homeland. LANCELIN, READY AND WAITING FOR YOU! Visitors’ Guide is here – https://www.lancelin.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/lancelin_brochure_2020.pdf… Read More

WONDERFUL WA WEATHER

Those of you who drive Indian Ocean Drive often, know that scenes like this can appear at any time. This ultra-vivid rainbow was certainly a world beater. If you’re going to be in Lancelin soon, you will be warmly welcomed. There’s sand boarding and quad bike tours (book at www.lancelin.com.au), surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing (if the wind is up), long walks on the beach, sunset spectating at the lookout plus… Read More

GOT ONE OF THESE?

If so, the waters off Lancelin are perfect for getting out and about like this adventurous jet skier.   He parked his car on the Back Beach and launched his ski right there. That’s one of the main drawcards of Lancelin, being able to launch directly from the beach either near the jetty, along Cunliffe Street, at the north point or from the Back Beach.   Get a group together… Read More

THE IDEAL SPOT TO STARGAZE

Lancelin has very light pollution especially if you head north or south of the township, or wander out to one of the dunes. With so little ambient light, the stars simply “POP”! If you’re planning a trip to town (and if you’re not I highly recommend it), bring a blanket or a sleeping bag and a pillow, and fix your gaze on the stars on a clear night. You’ll be… Read More

TIME TO GIVE THE BOAT A RUN

Lancelin’s calm bay is a popular drawcard for Perth boaties. We’re less than an hour by car from Joondalup and less than 90 minutes from the centre of Perth. Get your friends and family primed for a day trip or weekend to Lano. If you have a 4WD you can launch from the beach and spend a few hours fishing in the bay, head out to deep water for your… Read More

LANCELIN WILDLIFE

There is plenty of it around the town starting with these delightful birds on our beach. The other day we had 6 pelicans sitting just off Lancelin Island but they frequent the mainland often so keep a lookout for them. There are also dolphins and sea lions, osprey, numerous birds, foxes, roos, emus and the occasional echidna, although you’d be very fortunate to see one of them now that visitor… Read More

GOOD TIMES ON THE TURQUOISE COAST

Hands up of you’re going to be in Lancelin this weekend. Today was a picture perfect day in town and if you’re going to be up here this weekend consider enjoying a meal at the Endeavour Tavern’s beer garden or a drink at the front bar of the Lancelin Beach Hotel at the north end of town. Both are full of character (and characters) and we’re less than 90 minutes… Read More

LANCELIN’S UNIQUE OFF-ROAD AREA

How about bringing your 2 or 4-wheel off-road vehicle to Lancelin this weekend? It’s one of the best places for driving on the beach and the off-road area offers dunes like few others in the state. You can fuel your car, bike, buggy, boat and body at the Lancelin Gull Roadhouse, shop for groceries at the IGA or Have A Chat, pick up your pharmaceuticals at the Lancelin Pharmacy and… Read More
