Lancelin is a crayfishing town, it has been for decades and while the market for crays/lobsters is depressed at present, it will bounce back; it always does.
At present many of the boats have their pots out of the water (pic 1) but when the market picks up, the 20 or so commercial boats in the bay will be back out at sea fishing for the famed Western Rock Lobster.
And starting in October, boats will be able to sell lobsters from the back of the boat. If you’re a lobster lover, you’ll love this new system that allows every boat to sell up to 100 lobsters per landing.
You’ll be able to order them online at Lancelin.com.au when the system kicks in.
