The Pinnacles is a must-see for anyone visiting the Lancelin region.  Located in the Nambung National Park, (50 minutes north of Lancelin), these remarkable limestone formations are spread over an area of 190 hectares and attract 250,000+ visitors/year. The park is open all year – it never shuts but if you go between 9.30am and 4.30pm, pop in to the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre near the car park.  It offers interpretive displays of the park; both the natural processes that formed the Pinnacles and the biodiversity of the area.

The easiest ways to experience the Pinnacles is to take a tour from Perth.  There are a couple of options that include side trips to the Lancelin dunes , a Swan Valley winery, a lobster processing plant and a wildlife park.

After entering the Pinnacles you can drive or walk around the 4km unsealed loop track and stop by the wheelchair-friendly lookout providing a great vantage point from which to view the area. So, when is the best time to visit? Between August and October when the weather is mild and the wildflowers are blooming but that shouldn’t stop you visiting at other times of the year.

Tours start at $169 which includes lunch or you could self drive and pay just $13/vehicle (or $6/person for tour buses) and make your own way to and from the park. You can pay by cash or credit card.
