The site was once a fish processing facility constructed using asbestos material. These buildings were demolished a while back but some debris and contaminated soils remained on site.
Today, remediation works started in accordance with all state and national asbestos legislation, regulations and standards. In 4 or 5 weeks from now the work should be complete.
So what is planned for the site? Well that’s still up in the air but further community consultation will take place once more details of the proposed development are confirmed.
God knows Lancelin is certainly crying out for development and this prime piece of land is ripe to be turned into something impressive.
