In early June, 2017, Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, confirmed that the upgrade to the Lancelin skate park in the middle of town has been given the green light.

You might remember that just prior to the last federal election, Mr Porter held a press conference at the park promising $126,000 for the works if the Liberal government was returned to office.

The upgrade will include:
*  the addition of a quarter pipe/bowl style bank
*  jump box and flat roll-in;
*  manual pad and flat bank box with a grind box and rail
*  a pump track
*  & renewal of the existing steel half pipe.

Mr Porter said that the Lancelin Skate Park was a project the community had been passionate about and he was happy to see the Liberal government delivering on their commitment.

The federal government is investing in the project with the Shire of Gingin managing it’s delivery. which is slated for September 2017.
