LOBSTER INDUSTRY REELING

On Friday December 7th, 2018  the state government delivered a broadside to the commercial lobster/crayfish industry, the primary industry in Lancelin. On Sunday January 21st, 2018, Lancelin resident Tonya Illman came upon a bottle on a beach-side sand dune just north of Wedge Island in Western Australia. Lancelin was establish in the mid forties as a hub for the cray fishing industry.  This was the first pub to be built and it stood at the very northern end of the town.  It was known as the Inn back in 1954 when it opened, today it’s called the Lancelin Beach Hotel.
